Empowering Women. Shaping The Future of Banking.

The issue of lost women workers remains a delicate one for many companies, particularly in highly skilled professions. After spending their 20s in high-intensity jobs, many women leave or switch to part-time work when they have children. Most companies simply acknowledge the departures and move on, but some of them are starting to recruit talented women who are ready to resume work. Standard Chartered Bank recognises the talent of these women and are launching the women initiative "Moms Matter" to welcome Women back into the Workforce.

EVENT SUPPORTING ORGANISATIONS

Mums@Work Singapore

Mums@Work is a social enterprise that strives to help women find the perfect balance between being a mum and having a career. Our aim is to advertise available flexible work solutions for mothers, with a focus on PMEs. We also reach out to enlightened employers who are open to hiring talented women. In addition, we are also the first community support business for mumpreneurs.

Mums@Work helps mothers marry their professional experience with the shift in priorities upon the inclusion of new family members. Our main mission is to be a point of information source for mothers who want to work flexi-‐time or run their own mumpreneur business so as to have sufficient time for family as well.

As of 31st March 2016, Mums@Work (Singapore) has more than 27,000 member-‐mums and has successfully listed more than 1900 flexi-‐work arrangement jobs (for professionals and executives),  since we started in 2010. We hold numerous events every month, with an annual career fair and ‘Start a Mumpreneur Business Workshop’ being the most popular.

Under the umbrella of Mums@Work, we organise training sessions via Mama’s Biz School. We are also the main organiser of Singapore Mumpreneur of the Year Award & Mama’s Bazaar. In November 2015, we organised ‘She Owns It’ – a conference for Women Entrepreneurs.

Careermums

Careermums is Singapore’s first online job portal that caters specially to mothers.  We strive to provide a platform for professional working mothers to register their interest in non-traditional working hours.  Mothers can find part-time, freelance and jobs with flexible working arrangements on our portal.

For most mothers, working part-time may be the best arrangement for them and their families.  They get to spend time with their children and yet earn an income that fulfills their financial needs and achieve career satisfaction.  And for employers, providing work flexibility is no longer just a cost. There are some intangible benefits that employers may have overlooked and thus missed out this kind of win-win situation arrangements within their organizations.

As more companies realize the potential of this untapped pool of talent, and the benefits of hiring them on a flexible basis, Careermums hopes to be the number one working partner to enable employers and mummies to meet and achieve their objectives.
